Prior to his promotion as ED, Shri Sudhakar was serving as Chief General Manager-in-Charge of the Department of Supervision in the Reserve Bank. Data on lending and deposit rates of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) (excluding regional rural banks and small finance banks) received during September 2026 are set out in Tables 1 to 9. Highlights: Lending Rates: The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on outstanding rupee loans of SCBs declined marginally to 8.96 per cent in August 2026 from 8.97 per cent in July 2026.
